Persians (especially if you live in Iran), what's your view on internet filtering

Persians (especially if you live in Iran), what's your view on internet filtering?
At Linkinpark and no name, I'm wondering. Youtube is not in the black list yet and you can access it without any proxy, also as far as I've experienced, the major free email services are not filtered either such as yahoo, google, hotmail or msn.

It's humiliating as if we are not mature enough to understand what is right or wrong .

it s.u.c.k.s Edit: no sites are really filtered; now even children know how to get rid of it in Iran ;) Twitter and Facebook are not (yet!) filtered though.

Hi Mary, I do not live in Iran but fly over for vacations (last time 3 years ago). Filtering is such a nuisance & I hated it. Plus there are always proxies that break through the filter. :) BTW..can you guys log on to Twitter & Facebook? Just curious:-)

I live in the UK but my cousins over there hate it, especially that some very innocent sites are filtered. The really potentially dangerous ones can be -optionally- filtered from your personal computer, not the government.

Their is Internet filtering In all countries( except maybe one or two). But In Iran It's very harsh, proxies are usefull but slowdown downloading. The programmers which make these kind of filters are traitors.

well for immature people and children people is a good thing but for mature people that use it for bussiness, I don't know because there are hundreds of bipass sites and it doesnt even matter for me because im only there in summers.

I do Support the Filtering of Pornographic Sites. But Its Getting Totally Annoying and Meaningless now, Filtering every irrelevant Site , Keywords or even News Agencies ! I can Bypass them Anyway so ... Whatever ! :p

Stupid...it is humiliating, and I think so much of it is filtered because the government does not want people to realize how absurd the laws are, and if people do realize then that would lead to the start of a uprising.

it is disrespect to people .. choosing instead of them which site they can see or they cant

loll it can get really annoying... i go to Iran a lot, it is my country, and honestly, i cant even open my e-mail there. a lot of public websites are blocked... like you tube. but, everyone can break the filtering in Iran. it is illegal, but they still do it.
