If you had the opportunity would you go live in Iran for a month to experience life there for yourself?

i think its one of those life-changing experiences that would help the west wake up and not be brainwashed by everything the media portrays! it would be a chance to get a mind of your own! If you are considering it, go along and do it!

Probably not. For one thing, I'm a woman and I refuse to wear a burkah, and secondly, one of my dreams is to visit Egypt and I'm actually fearful of going there because I am American. Sad, isn't it?

I see nothing attractive about going there, unless Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs are overthrown first. I've known Iranians and I like them as a people, but the Iranian government is not trustworthy.

No, I like picking out my own clothes. I doubt they would be as accepting of my cultural. Some how we are supposed to respect their social customs, but in their countries they do not have to respect our social customs.

I would LOVE to SEE all these LIBERALS(especially Clinton, Pelosi, and Reed) try to live there a month!!!! then they(liberals) may understand how good their lives were in the states..... maybe they would appreciate our military alittle bit more:)

No, I wouldn't. My TV gives me the opportunity to to visit places, I would like to live. And to see how those people live day in and day out. Personally, I wouldn't feel safe. It seems to me the people who live there in Iran want out. And there not exactly fond of Americans. Anyway, I don't want to go to a country that is directly at war with it's own people as well as other countries. But, as I say, everything isn't for everybody, and If you feel that is an 'opportunity' for you to experience...then by all means go.... Good Luck

Of course, without a doubt. If I was given the possibility of doing so, I would. I like to experience new things and in a country like Iran, that would be an extremely new thing. I am very political (I'm an ardent liberal) and I'm saying this from a cultural point of view rather than a political one.

Iran has historically been a death trap for Americans. I would not want to go there and gets accused of something I did not do or be held hostage. If it was not for that, I'd go for I am the traveling type.

Are you insane? Not a chance, there is nothing to be learned from such an excercise in stupidity. I don't care If Iran (Persia) is one of the oldest and most knowledgeable cultures on the planet, you or I would not be allowed to learn from it unless you proved you sympathized with thier way of life, religion, and politics. Anything less than a full conversion to thier current version of Islam and you are a dead person in no time flat.

Well, I guess it's time for someone who actually lives there post an answer. Yes, living in Iran is hard. Especially for women. But there are some myths regarding Iran (I guess that's natural). First, I'm 28 years old and I've never seen a burkah in Iran. In Afghanistan and Iraq yes, but in Iran, people are not really religious, they just pretend to be! Even the government does not believe in religion any more. Religion and Islam in Iran is about power and domination, not about faith and God. That's why Iranians never join terrorist groups (although our government support them financially), because we are sure that there are no 72 virgins! But regarding life in Iran, especially Tehran where I live, I think a month is too long for an American, but I really suggest TWO WEEKS. That's long enough for you to love the food and people and see us for yourself! ;)
